I;m worried about the future. I plan to live a few decades longer, maybe until I'm 100 years old. I can't imagine any Senator or Congressman saying in January 1942 that the war was lost, even thogh most of our Navy was sunk and we had almost no fully armed and active land or air forces. Yet, America prevailed. We didn't even blame FDR, we just fought the war, WWII.
The War on Terror is different, bipartisan supported ended by October 2001 and now we have active calls to cut and run/surrender or just plain give up.
I guess it is better that we fight and die over here than to fight them over there???
This is a long and different war, I seem to remember Presidet Bush saying something to that effect 4 or 5 years ago. He said our victories would go unreported and our defense had to be perfect. It has been pretty good so far, [knock on wood], the terrorists have not been able to attack us on US soil since 9/11.
But we are losing the war for the hearts of the Americdan people since every day, we hear some Congressman or Senator giving encouraging words to our enemies.
